The review of the Boards of Cananda The Campfire Headphase was pulled and then updated, when we discovered that an initially trusted recording was confirmed a forgery. Apparently, forgery MP3 files are circulating possibly with misidentified Freescha and maybe even Arovane and Biosphere tracks. This won’t be the first time misidentified tracks created the problem of forgeries for BoC listeners seeking unreleased non-retail material on P2P networks. Considering that Warp released the track listing and someone could have easily searched the Amazon reviews to find artists that sound like Boards of Canada, the only question remains whether or not the leaks were perpetrated to protect the artist and poison unofficial sources or just dupe devotees for fun. Others have suggested this is an amateur trying to get his or her music out there, but not their actual identity, so what’s the point?
